Why do you give up hope, when there is much left in the world of men?
Why do you only see battles raging between the government and people?
Why do you think it's the end of humanity because a man gunned down
children? Because a woman was raped?
We insult our species by even considering these acts to be human, therefore symbolizing the "end" of humanity. And how dare you eve say they behave like animals, and highly insult animals? Maybe the Mayans were right. Maybe the world might end in 5 minutes. But the world will not end because of 7 people.

No. The world, when it does, will end because of the 7
billion people on planet Earth. 6 men raped an innocent woman. 1 shot
innocent children down. What are we, the remaining 6999999993, doing?
Posting pictures on Facebook about how we want men castrated.
Why do you not see that a young woman risked her
life to save the lives of her students? Why do you not see the millions
of people wanting to help, but not knowing how to?
Stop saying what you want done to those b******s. Start thinking about how you'll ensure that no man thinks that way, forget does. Because no amount of regret, marching, shouting, protesting is going to help the families of those innocent children gunned down, or the innocent woman. Instead what they would appreciate that no one else went through the same ordeal.

Pandora did not just let evil out into the world, she
also let out hope. Hope that keeps the world running. The same way,
humans do not just let out sick deeds, and torture. They also let good
shine out. Don't let the world fool you. Keep believing.
Good stuff! :)

ReplyDeleteThe depravity of an individual is but a reflection of the depravity of society on the whole.Events such the Delhi gangrape should not be looked upon as opportunities for protest or violent outburst, but as chances for introspection. Aren't the same people who made blustering calls for castration and fast-track execution for rapists, the same who, collectively, make up a society which does not give women their due value? which objectifies women? Are they not the same society, the leaders of whom would have the legal marriageable age for women lowered, so that the husbands forced on them would have free license to rape with the protection of the law? Through the segregation of genders in schools and other institutions, through a kind hypocritical prudishness we acquired, not
ReplyDeletefrom our ancestors, but from our colonial oppressors, ours is a society which breeds the kind of monsters who indulge in rape, murder, torture, even eve-teasing. When our society objectifies women to the extent of reducing them to mere seed-bearers to continue the male lineage, it is not at all surprising that rape and other sexual crimes are prevalent in our country. Animals are slaughtered every day; in Muslim countries, they slit their throats and let them bleed to death. we kill mosquitos, step on ants, and prise the scaly wings off cockroaches without giving so much as a fleeting thoughtfor what it is we are doing. When society refuses to acknowledge women as being human, is it so surprising that they are raped, brutalised, and mutilated on a daily basis? Tragedies like the Delhi gangrape are not times to bash the government or screech for someone's blood. They are opportunities given to us to look into ourselves, to reflect on what we are, to ponder whether the little things we do with impunity every day are morally right. Let us not squander the lesson that this victim and all other victims of rape wrote for us in their own blood: We must respect the women in our lives.
